Glassdoor reviews from the crash era described the turbulence: repeated layoffs reviewers said often came with little warning, bonuses pared back as revenue fell, and a leadership team insiders felt had scaled too fast to settle on a strategy.

How it happened
Amber Group was one of Asia's biggest crypto trading and digital-asset platforms, and at the 2021-22 peak it reached a $3B valuation backed by Temasek, Sequoia China and Coinbase Ventures.
The crypto crash and FTX contagion hit hard: it cut staff, raised a down round and broke itself up, selling its Japan unit to Sony and reorganizing around its wealth arm, Amber International Holding, which listed on Nasdaq in 2025 before the shares fell to about $144M.
