How it happened

Hopin was a UK virtual-events platform that soared during the pandemic to a peak valuation around $7.75B in 2021. As in-person events returned, demand evaporated and the business shrank dramatically. Its core assets were sold to RingCentral in August 2023 for just $15M upfront (up to $50M), and remaining operations were wound down in 2024, a roughly 99.8% collapse from its peak.
