How it happened

Eventbrite is a self-service ticketing platform used by organizers to sell tickets for everything from concerts to conferences. A private unicorn valued around $2B, it went public in 2018 at a $1.8B valuation and briefly traded higher in the 2021 reopening rally.

But growth stalled, the events market stayed choppy and a 2024 pricing-and-product misstep drove organizers away. In December 2025 Italy's Bending Spoons bought it for about $500M β€” $4.50 a share β€” completing the take-private in March 2026, far below its peak.
