How it happened
Gett, founded in Tel Aviv in 2010 by Dave Waiser and originally called GetTaxi, connected riders and corporate accounts with licensed taxi fleets. A $200M round in 2019 that included Volkswagen valued it at $1.5B.
After scrapping a planned $1B SPAC listing in 2022 and pulling back to its business-to-business corporate-mobility niche, Gett ran a long sale process. In August 2025 a consortium of six financial investors led by Leumi Partners bought the company at a $190M valuation, about $188M by Gett's own account. The deal was structured as minority-stake purchases from existing holders to avoid a competition review, and landed roughly 87% below the peak.
Glassdoor reviews were comparatively upbeat, with complaints mostly limited to long hours and work-life balance under demanding management.

Calcalist / Gett blog (Aug 2025): a Leumi Partners-led consortium of six investors acquired Gett at a $190M valuation ($188M per the company), structured as ~16.6% minority stakes bought from existing holders (VNV, Access Industries) to avoid an Israeli Competition Authority review.
