How it happened

Nautilus Biotechnology aimed to map the entire human proteome with a single-molecule protein-analysis platform, and went public in June 2021 via a SPAC merger with Perceptive Advisors' Arya Sciences Acquisition Corp III, trading above $10 a share for a valuation over $1B. The product proved hard to commercialize: launch timelines slipped repeatedly (now targeted for late 2026), losses mounted and the stock fell more than 90%. By 2025 Nautilus had cut 16% of staff and was worth only around $100M β€” a fraction of its debut.
