How it happened

Yuga Labs is the Web3 company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection and related projects, which reached a ~$4B valuation in 2022 at the height of the NFT boom. As NFT prices and crypto markets crashed, demand and trading activity fell sharply. Secondary-market marks now imply roughly $0.7B amid thin liquidity, about 83% below peak.
