Picsart is a photo- and video-editing app that added AI features, reaching a ~$1.5B valuation after a 2021 funding round. As private tech valuations reset, third-party estimates (PitchBook) marked the company down below the unicorn threshold, roughly 50% under peak. Glassdoor reviews from the markdown years sketch the turbulence inside: repeated layoff rounds — two big ones in a single year, by one employee's count, with some of the laid-off later rehired — a strategy reviewers said pivoted every few months toward whatever competitors or AI trends were hot, and long-running gripes that a family-and-friends inner circle held the top jobs. The app itself still serves a large global user base.
