How it happened

Humane was a US AI hardware startup founded by ex-Apple executives that launched the Ai Pin, a wearable, screenless AI device, reaching a ~$1B valuation in 2023. The Ai Pin drew poor reviews and weak sales after its 2024 launch. In February 2025, HP acquired most of Humane's assets for about $116 million, and the Ai Pin was discontinued.
